Are you enjoying the editing process and is it difficult?
Being the first/rough editor of our film, and having editing experiences prior in last year's film opening and the preliminary music video, the editing process has been smooth all the way for me. The work I have to do this time in editing is to basically put all the good films together to our song's chronological order, match the lip-sync to the lyrics accurately, and add the subtitles of the song. In-terms of the more complexed after-effects and color grading that gives more depth to our music video, it's my teammate Dimitry's job to work on.
What program/s are you using?
The software I'm using is called 'JianYing'-a Chinese professional application that works like Premier/Final cut. It runs our footages in full resolution, allows me to do editing, sound, and it has my favorite feature-automatic subtitles that sync smartly with our song which helps me to match the lip-sync clips with the music easily.
What research have you done to develop your skills?
For the online technologies aspect, I've watched multiple tutorials on Youtube and Bilibili teaching me how to edit and color grade in a professional way using 'JianYing', and how to utilize different lighting positions while shooting such as roof light and back light to make the most clarity out of our footages.
Does the editing follow your storyboard?
For the majority of time, my edits had followed my storyboard thanks to the through-rough planning we've done prior to shooting making my life a lot easier. But there were points where the shots are too long and have gone bland for the audience's interest such as Arthur rapping alone outdoor in the park, so I'll have to add a b-roll of the sport car there for better entertainments which also helps to convey the representation of money/wealth.
Have you applied any special effects? What have you added and why you added them?
Explain how you created specific special effects (short clips to show skill)
Did you need to colour grade anything in your opening

What is the significance and impact of editing to the beat? (cuts and transitions used?)

What has worked well?
What has been a challenge?
